Introduction

I submitted the following question to Gillette's Grooming God:

Hi,

I have two related queries about the M3Power shaver. I have seen the advert for it on television. The advert makes it clear that it is a battery powered razor (the world's first, in fact), but does not say what it actually *does* with the battery power. Is there a light for dark conditions? Does it talk? I looked at your website for more information and it also does not say exactly what it does, but does mention a "tiny motor". While this could do just about anything, one would assume that it vibrates the razor. So my first query is, "am I correct in assuming that the M3Power shaver vibrates?"

My second query is quite simple. Assuming that the M3Power shaver does indeed vibrate, what is the advantage in having a vibrating razor? How does vibration in anyway enhance the shaving experience? Does it create less irritation? Does it result in a closer shave? Are there any independent scientific studies that compare the difference between a vibrating razor and one that doesn't?

Hi Stephen, Thanks for the email and for your interest in M3Power - Gillette's best shave yet. The tiny motor vibrates the cartridge blades, acting like a hair clipper. This allows the blades to cut the wisker with less resistence and force, thereby reducing razor bumps and improving skin comfort (since you are using less strokes to shave). In essence, it provides a smoother, closer shave, with the least amount of iritation. It's truely an amazing product - nothing shaves better.
